Videos: How to clean your new floors.

Taking care of your new laminate floors.
Taking care of your luxury vinyl tile (LVT) or luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring.

In a nutshell: When cleaning LVT or LVP, you need a pH neutral cleaner. To protect your new floor and your warranty, check with the manufacturer for their recommendations. Luxury vinyl tile (LVT) looks like ceramic tile and luxury vinyl plank (LVP) looks like wood. These products are becoming increasingly popular for their beauty and easy maintenance.

In a nutshell: To protect and maintain your new carpet, along with its warranty, most manufacturers require steam cleaning every 18 to 24 months. Vacuum twice a week with the right type of vacuum for your carpet. Remove stains using a stain-protectant cleaner, like Nylac. When using, be sure not to scrub the carpet. Instead blot it. Maintain your investment. Keep your carpet looking beautiful, daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.

Taking care of your hardwood flooring.

In a nutshell: To keep your new laminate flooring looking gorgeous for years, use floor protectors to prevent scratches. Clean regularly. But not with water. Many people think it's okay to mop laminate with water, but it's not. Always follow the recommendations of the manufacturer.

In a nutshell: To protect, maintain, and clean your hardwood floors, start with floor protectors to help prevent scratches. If you do get a scratch, use a touch-up pen to make it unnoticeable. Clean once a week; we recommend Bona® Hardwood Floor Mop Express. And use a walk-off mat.
