Curved stairways are difficult because the size of each stair changes as it “pies” around curves. Patterned carpeting adds to the project’s difficulty. Our skilled installer individually upholstered each stair, carefully centering and matching the pattern.
Also note, the area rug by the door, which was custom made to match the carpet on the stairway.
This custom-made staircase features wood perimeters, which provide a frame to show off the inlaid Royal Dutch carpet.
To give a smoother look to this room, our installer undercut the stone in this fireplace so that he could install the wood flooring from beneath. He then mortared underneath leaving a space necessary for expansion of the materials due to temperature changes.
We work with contractors to discuss different molding options when blending carpet and wood. In this room, there is no gap between carpeting, hardwood, and molding. And none of the beautiful molding is hidden by carpet!
